Posted Aug. 31, 2008 (WTNH) - On Sunday, October 5th, GTO Owners of the Northeast, better known as GONE will hold a car show to benefit Multiple Sclerosis. The event will be held at Mongillo Motors in New Haven, which are the sponsors of this event. OCT. 19TH MONGILLO MOTORS, NEW HAVEN CALL(203) 907-4443 FOR MORE INFORMATION GTO Owners of the Northeast was formed in 2005 after the introduction of the 2004, 2005 and 2006 Pontiac GTO. This is a 'new generation' performance or as known in the '60s - '80s 'muscle cars'. The car is a come back to the old GTO, much different in style and comfort but still a current generation performance aka muscle car due to the horsepower displaced by the engine!!! In 2007 G.O.N.E. was looking to be recognized in the support of charitable organizations. After numerous conversations and participation in Toys For Tots events I asked about the formation of a 'walk team' to be formed for the May 4, 2008 Multiple Sclerosis Walk for a Cure. After some discussion I divulged how I live with M.S. it was decided to move forward with the support of the CT NMSS Walk by the formation of a 'walk team' called GONE for MS. The team consisted of G.O.N.E. members, friends, co-workers and family. Being the first event G.O.N.E. for MS raised $1,270 for the CT NMSS. In July of 2008, Mongillo Motors held a 'car event' called Dyno Day and GTO car show. Ed Gomez and Bill Miller owners of Mongillo Motors took a step forward coming on board with the GONE for MS movement and from that event $330 was donated to CT NMSS. On October 5, 2008 (rain date October 19, 2008) from Noon - 6PM Mongillo Motors will sponsor a Car Show for M.S. at their facility located at 34 Fulton Street, New Haven, CT. This will be an open car show to anyone wishing to show off their car. There will be 'dyno pulls', quarter mile simulations on the dyno machine for a donation of $30 of which 100% will go to CT NMSS. Ed, Bill and the Mongillo Motors Team will donate their time and equipment for the event. There will be raffles with 100% of the funds going to CT NMSS, there will be food, there will be prizes. As a surprise, Bill has been working behind the scenes with some of their vendors which will have items as raffle prizes and a monetary contribution to CT NMSS. |
